Timechain Explorer

The Timechain Explorer  provides a comprehensive view of activity on the Analog network, including:

  • Verifying transactions and extrinsics.
  • Monitoring blocks and account activity.
  • Tracking cross-chain (i.e., GMP) messages. See Track GMP Messages for more details.

The Timechain Explorer is available at https://explorer.analog.one/  for Mainnet; and https://explorer.testnet.analog.one/  for the Testnet.

The Explorer has various sections/tabs:

Home

Get a snapshot of the Timechain's health and overall stats, with details such as:

  • Chain data, e.g., total blocks, total transfers, total extrinsics, and total accounts.
  • Token metrics, e.g., circulating supply and staked tokens.

Blocks

View details about every block on the Timechain:

  • Block ID, Hash, Validator: Identify blocks and their creators.
  • Status: Pending (unconfirmed) or Finalized (confirmed).
  • Age, Extrinsics Count, Events: Track when the block was added and its contents.

Extrinsics

Extrinsics are on-chain actions (e.g., transactions, smart contract calls). Use this tab to debug transactions or verify execution. Each entry shows:

  • Extrinsic ID, Block Number, Hash: Locate specific actions.
  • Result: Success or failure.
  • Action: Type of operation (e.g., timestamping).

Transfers

Monitor token movements between accounts:

  • From/To Addresses, Value: Track senders, receivers, and amounts.
  • Result: Confirm if transfers succeeded.

GMP

This is your go-to tab for tracking cross-chain messages sent via the Analog GMP protocol. See Track GMP Messages for more details.

  • Search: You can search for GMP messages using:
    • Message ID: The unique identifier for the GMP payload. This is the primary identifier for tracking a message end-to-end.
    • Task ID: The Timechain's internal identifier for processing stages of the message.
    • Batch ID: If messages are processed in batches by the Timechain, this ID can find related messages.
  • Source Details: Originating chain, contract address, or transaction hash on the source chain.
  • Destination Details: Target chain, contract address, or transaction hash on the destination chain.
  • Message List Columns:
    • Message ID: The unique identifier.
    • Source: Originating chain, contract, and source transaction hash.
    • Destination: Target chain, contract, and destination transaction hash (appears after execution).
    • Status: The current state of the message (e.g., Submitted, Processing, Completed, Failed).
    • Created At: Timestamp when the message was initiated on the source chain.
    • Updated At: Timestamp of the last status update.
  • GMP Telemetry Pane:
    • GMP Pane: GMP messages. You can sort messages via Read Message Tasks or Submit Gateway Tasks.
    • Chronicles Pane: Details about individual Chronicle nodes (Account ID, connected networks, signature, state, assigned Shard ID, last heartbeat).
    • Shards Pane: Information about active shards, the networks they service, and their current state.

Staking

Monitor the health and activity of the Timechain's consensus mechanism.

  • Details: Number of active validators, nomination pool information, current era and epoch numbers, and total staking amounts (validator stake vs. nominator stake).

Accounts

Look up details for specific accounts on the Timechain.

  • Details: Account address, number of extrinsics initiated, and token balance.
