Decentralization Roadmap

Analog aims to fully decentralize through a phased/staggered approach. The following roadmap details the process of decentralizing network validation within the Analog ecosystem. As of January 15th, 2025, phase 1 of the roadmap is currently being executed.

Phase 0: Pre-mainnet stage

The pre-mainnet network primarily relied on Analog nodes to perform Time Node and Chronicle Nodes services. There were no inflationary rewards during this stage, and Analog’s nodes did not receive any rewards for participating in the TSS and NPoS consensus.

Phase 1: PoA Network

The first stage of decentralization will involve a limited set of validators: Analog nodes and whitelisted nodes from the Incentivized Testnet. Community participation in validation services such as Time Nodes or Chronicle Nodes will not be permitted during this stage.

In this phase, there will be no inflationary rewards, and Analog nodes or whitelisted Time Node operators will not receive any incentives for their participation in the TSS and NPoS consensus mechanisms.

Phase 2: Staked Time Nodes

In this phase, Analog will enable a staking mechanism. Whitelisted operators and Analog nodes providing Time Node services can stake their tokens to earn rewards for participating in the NPoS consensus.

Community members/token holders can also nominate/delegate their tokens to whitelisted operators or other Analog nodes, earning inflationary rewards proportional to their nominated stake. Analog will still run Chronicle Node services.

Phase 3: Decentralized Chronicle Nodes

This phase will involve decentralizing Chronicle Nodes by allowing third-party entities to participate as Chronicle Node operators. To ensure the continuous provision of attestation/relaying services for supported chains, Analog will maintain a majority node presence while gradually granting operational authority to a rotating group of whitelisted operators.

Phase 4: Community-run Validation

This phase will mark the final stage of Analog’s decentralization from a validation standpoint. Analog nodes will no longer enjoy any special privileges in the validation process, regardless of their role as Time Nodes or Chronicle Nodes.

The ANLOG token will assume the central role in critical decision-making, encompassing staking and the future direction of the Analog network.
