Network Parameters
Configurable parameters govern the Analog network's operation, including consensus settings (e.g., block time, validator selection) and staking requirements (e.g., bonding, nomination). Understand these parameters, detailed in this document, before staking.
| Parameter | Duration | Description |
| Slot | 6 seconds (avg) | A potential time window for which one block is produced on the Timechain. |
| Epoch | 3 hours | Sequentially indexed periods during which validators are selected to author blocks. |
| Era | 12 hours | A period that validator sets and their nominators are recalculated and rewards are distributed during a set number of sessions. |
| Nomination period | 12 hours | A period defining how often new validator sets are selected. |
| Bonding duration | 21 days | The time it takes for your staked funds to be transferable after unstaking. Also called unbonding period. |
